Jason Brubaker – Roadmap to Indie Film Distribution
Do you want to know how to make money self distributing your film? Me too. That’s why I invited indie film self distribution guru Jason Brubaker on the show.
I’ve been following Jason Brubaker for sometime. He’s been in the indie film distribution space for over ten years and has had a front row seat to the major shifts going on in the film distribution business.
Jason Brubaker is a Los Angeles based indie film distribution executive specializing in direct to consumer distribution strategies. He currently consults with media companies, rights holders and content creators to develop strategies to source content, maximize distribution, grow audiences, build buzz and create community around each title.
We discuss a case study that blew my mind, Camp Takaota. How the filmmakers behind the film, staring Youtube stars, Grace Helbig, Hannah Hart and Mamrie Hart, made some big waves at AFM (American Film Market), sold tons of merchandise and made money self distributing.
He’s also been running an indie film site called Filmmaking Stuff for the past seven years. It’s full of useful info to anyone interested in film distribution. Sit back and enjoy this podcast with Jason Brubaker.
